Documentary


1. Generate an Idea. Think of something that you might want to document on video. 

Something big and universal is a good starting point, but you’ll have to narrow it down to something manageable. Pick a topic you are genuinely interested in.  

  • Gay Rights
  • Gay marriage
  • Life of a gay teen



2.  Brainstorm the information you know about this subject before filming.  

Write 15 things you know and 15 things you want to know about the subject.  After you brainstorm, go back through what you’ve written and highlight what you would consider possible themes or, the “heart” of your movie.  This will help you determine what you want to capture and showcase to your viewers.
